Question
I would appreciate if the honorable sheikh would clarify the Islamic ruling concerning participation in the moment of silence observed in European countries, explaining the evidence. Thank you for your cooperation.
Answer
All praise is for Allah and may the peace and blessing of Allah be upon His Messenger. To proceed:
Standing for a moment, more or less, out of respect for the dead is a practice that is not Islamic; therefore, it is not permissible for a Muslim to do it, except if he is forced to do so, and all success is from Allah.
