All praise is due to Allah, and may His praise and peace be upon His Messenger, his family, his companions, and those who follow him.

The Assembly of Muslims Jurists of America (AMJA) congratulates all Muslim communities in the United States of America for the arrival of the month of Ramadan. It is happy to announce to them the results of their following of the moon sighting reports from various agencies: Tuesday the 13th of April will be the first day of the blessed month of Ramadan, and Monday the 12th of April will be the completing day of Sha’ban (the 30th of Sha’ban). This is because the moon sighting was not possible the eve of Monday  (Sunday night), according to scientific facts.

As we announce this, we advise the Muslims in our country and throughout the world to be keen on attaining unity and harmony. We also advise everyone to fear Allah and to do their best in acts of worship and obedience in this blessed month, and to be keen on taking the means of safety.

May Allah give everyone a blessed year. May Allah accept good deeds from us and all of you.
