Dr. Jamaal Zarabozo is a prolific writer, researcher and speaker, who has lectured around the world on many traditional and contemporary issues and gained distinction in the field of dawah. Widely respected in Islamic scholarly circles, he has authored numerous books including a multi-volume explanation of the 40 Hadith of Imam Nawawi and “How to Approach and Understand the Quran,” and he has also translated, edited and compiled many others. His diverse works appeal to both the serious student of knowledge as well as Muslims seeking a better understanding of their deen.
Dr. Zarabozo also teaches online and onsite courses in Sacramento and in the Bay Area on Fiqh, Hadith, Arabic, and Legal Theory. Aside from his distinguished background in the Islamic Sciences, Sh. Zarabozo also has an educational background in economics – he earned both his Bachelors and Masters in Economics from the University of California at Berkeley and Davis. In 2015, he was awarded honorary doctorates by Mishkah University. He serves as one of the juristic experts on the Assembly of Muslim Jurists in America (AMJA) and has participated in the issuing of vital fatawa on issues affecting Muslims today.
